Call For Papers

Advances in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning serves to disseminate the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) in Higher Education. Aimed at promoting lively conversations among educators, this online journal features examples that focus on current practice and latest trends in SoTL. It seeks to build upon and enhance SoTL through a systematic inquiry of teaching practices and learning experiences that have potential applications for educators.

A peer reviewed, trans-disciplinary, open -access electronic journal, Advances in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, is created and supported by the Teaching & Learning Centre, Singapore University of Social Sciences. Published twice a year, the range of articles strives to be inclusive in scope, addressing topics and issues of significance to scholars as well as practitioners who are concerned with diverse aspects of teaching and learning. The journal welcomes contributions on development initiatives which enhance teaching and learning across disciplines. Examples ofinitiatives could include those related to instructional methods and practice, curriculum development and implementation, evaluation and assessment, and the use of instructional technology for teaching and learning. Papers sought for submission are as follows:

  • Research articles (3,000 – 5,000 words) focusing on higher education research on teaching and learning. Articles could include case studies research and findings.
  • Essays (2,000 -3,000 words) on such topics as how SoTL can directly improve teaching and learning outcomes; how best to integrate SoTL into higher education via F2F, online, or in combination.
  • Reviews (1,000 - 1,500 words) Literature reviews and scans of practice that show new understanding, meta -analysis, and analytical and integrated reviews on SoTL studies.

Submissions: Articles may be submitted at any time and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Articles will only be published after the necessary revisions are made to the satisfaction of the editor, and after the editor has accepted the article for publication. We reserve the right to hold accepted articles for up to 12 months before publishing them.
